MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER
God created marriage to be meaningful and fulfilling. In fact, the Bible uses the image of marriage to describe the relationship of Jesus to the church. In spite of high hopes, somehow 2/3 of married believers admit that their relationship with their spouse is not meaningful and less than fulfilling. In fact, 52% of Christian marriages end in divorce. But It doesn’t have to be this way...
On Saturday, February 26, 2022, we will discover the seven Biblical principles for making marriage work based on the award-winning research of the Gottman Institute and the Book “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” by John Gottman. We will also expose the “Four Horseman;” four destructive patterns of behavior that make divorce inevitable (criticism, contempt, defensiveness and stonewalling) and learn how to apply the behavioral antidotes for preventing these destructive patterns.

Encounter Session At Home
Each 45-minute session is biblically based and designed to provide practical insights and doable strategies for building and sustaining a fulfilling marriage. Couples will engage in four encounter sessions to discuss and discern specific ways to incorporate these patterns into their own marriage.
This is an introductory weekend. It takes time to learn these principles and learn new strategies. Two additional follow-up events are planned for this spring and may including an overnight retreat. Even if you can’t attend these follow-up events this weekend still has the potential to enrich or even transform your marriage!
